Access systems overview
Remote key entry (RKE) and passive start (PS)
RKE enables secure remote locking, unlocking, and theft protection functions via LF/RF communication between vehicle and key fob. In addition, it provides secure key fob authorisation and passive start.
Passive start and entry (PASE)
PASE extends conventional remote key entry by enabling hands-free vehicle access. The vehicle automatically detects an authorized key in the vicinity and grants access without any user interaction. Additional features such automatic approach unlock and welcome lights ensure an enhanced user experience.
Digital access systems / smartphone as key
Digital access replaces the physical vehicle key with a smartphone, wearable, or other connected device. Virtual keys are securely managed through backend services and transmitted to authorized users, enabling flexible access for private owners, fleet operators, and shared mobility providers.
Communication technologies such as Bluetooth®, NFC, and ultra-wideband (UWB) provide secure authentication and precise device localization, creating a convenient and future-ready access experience.
