CES Collaborates in Software Course to Build Mobility Talent

Complex vehicle architectures require matched software talents to build future mobility systems such as embedded software. CES Mexico is collaborating in the effort by leading courses to solve future mobility challenges.

The demand is growing for more engineering talent to support the mobility industry in Mexico. The increasing complexity of vehicle architectures requires matched skillsets to develop Embedded Systems to coordinate unified platforms that will carry out critical tasks.

Continental Automotive has stepped up to the challenge to bring in more engineering talent. In collaboration with NXP Semiconductors and the University of Guadalajara, Mexico (UdeG), Continental is offering Embedded Software training courses to students and recent graduates.

Leading the effort from Continental Engineering Services (CES) is our Head of Guadalajara, José Herrera-Martinez. José is one of two sponsors from Continental. Alejandro Campos, Head of Human Relations he[a]t, supports the program as a co-lead with José. Dulce López supports the collaboration between Continental and the external parties, NXP Semiconductors and UdeG.

When asked about why he wanted CES to participate in such as program, José said, “There is an interest from our engineering team to participate in this program to develop new talent. We want to boost the growth of the CES team with people who are really passionate about engineering.”

The program allows students of The University Center of Exact Sciences and Engineering (CUCEI) department and other young engineering professionals throughout Mexico to develop and train directly with experienced engineers from Continental Automotive. The program is intended to advance and grow national talent to increase relevant skillsets for the global mobility industry from Mexico.

The Embedded Software modules range from software architecture, embedded programming, hardware validation, functional safety, and cyber security.

“It is important that we at CES support the growth and development of engineers from Mexico to help contribute to the global mobility market. It also provides early curricular skills for young engineers to get a first experience into automotive R&D activities,” said José.

The Embedded Software modules will be held virtually throughout 2021. We wish the best success for the Continental team members and the program attendees during the training courses!
