The AUMOVIO Engineering Solutions acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS) is mandatory for electric vehicles in many countries to enhance safety for vulnerable road users (pedestrians, cyclists, children). Since 2019, new electric vehicles are required to feature AVAS.
Our AVAS generates artificial vehicle sounds via loudspeakers or actuators that vibrate structural components, synchronized with vehicle parameters like speed, accelerator position, and gear. Similar to conventional vehicles, our system provides distinct reversing sounds to alert nearby pedestrians, even without visual contact.
